I sit here staring at the chart for Vancouver, BC, Canada tonight at 8:32pm PST. This is when the full moon in Scorpio is exact, or at the fully illuminated position by the sun opposite in Taurus. Depending on where you are this moon may fall into the wee hours of April 27th instead. This opposition occurs almost exactly at the time of sunset here on the west coast, and as the moon just begins to rise. I have included a screenshot of the chart below, which displays Scorpio on the eastern horizon as the moon is becoming visible in the northern hemispheric skies. A quick reminder that the eastern horizon appears on the left side of the zodiacal chart due to the 2D perception of Earth’s 3D reality, as well as the rotation of our Earth relative to its motion around the Sun. Most importantly is to look at the planets within the sign of Taurus, and then along the thick red opposition line showing the full moon at 7 degrees of Scorpio, conjunct the ascendant.

Meanwhile, all the planets in Taurus are being put to rest in the west. The tug of war feelings we get from opposition will surely be felt during this illumination, as Venus, Mercury and Uranus are close by in the sign of Taurus. Venus conjunct Mercury will be signalling communication on feelings of safety within this container, specifically highlighted here in relationships for the energies around the west coast. This chart signals a conversation between the self and relationships to others. What needs to be released? Scorpio will be bringing up all the unresolved feelings and traumas around these aspects of ones life. Taurus wants to be safe and secure, where Scorpio wants to make us uncomfortable to be able to grow and evolve.
This full moon will also have the planet Uranus at play, only 3 degrees away. Uranus, who has been a major player this year in shaking up our sense of safety in our material world, will provide unexpected twists during this time. Remember to embrace its powerful energies as a reminder that the only constant is change. Whatever Uranus is providing to you on this night is meant to guide you along your divine path. Nothing can ever be destroyed without birthing new creation, this is what the Scorpio archetype means most.
This is a time to look at what has been occurring in your life in 2021, especially with the dance of Uranus and Saturn. What have you been holding onto that you need to let go of? What aren’t you allowing in? How are you resisting change? This is a very powerful release, that will ultimately help set us up for January of 2022 when the moons nodes shift out of Gemini and Sagittarius (the battle of truth) into Taurus and Scorpio (the battle for safety). Pay attention to what is happening here, as these themes will resurface come this time. Whatever has been begging itself to be heard and seen deep within you; now is the time to look at it.
Leading up to this day we have had some powerful revelations come about. Venus and then Mercury have each had a chance to sit with Uranus and experience something new. This has perhaps shaken your reality a touch, but remember to lean in. Whatever has occurred or been occurring is helping to set you up for this main event. Look to where you have Scorpio and Taurus in your chart. What planets are there, if any? What themes are being shown to you now? Shortly after this full moon, just after 1pm PST on April 27th we have Pluto going retrograde. The modern ruler of Scorpio, this feels fitting. As all of the other major planets from 2020 have left Capricorn, Pluto has remained to deal with unfinished business. Pluto continues to help us restructure our world as the old one continues to crumble with it’s help. Pluto returning to the pause of retrograde will resurface what was happening in 2020. Pay attention, as there are lessons here that still need to be learned. Issues that still need resolving. For any of the Capricorn stellium generation (late 80s and early 90s babies) who just completed their Saturn returns, this will be a pivot back to anything left unsaid. Expect similar themes from your return to come back around. Ask yourself what is being asked of you here, where have you still some work to do on maturing and stepping into your full self?
Scorpio energy is like the deep depths of the ocean’s trenches; dark, foreboding, hidden, uncomfortable. But when we allow all of this to be illuminated, it is much like the monsters under our bed. The light comes on, and everything is seen to be okay. To be normal. To be safe. Remind yourself of this if fear arises, that all of what is within you…IS within you. It is a part of you, and you of it. There is nothing to fear, as nothing is here to hurt you. Remember the power of Scorpio, as when harnessed fully, it is the most profound and incredible of the zodiac. With harnessed Scorpio energy, you create your inner emotional reality with all the necessary tools. Conjunct the ascendant, a reminder of the power of self will be imminent. You are the master of your domain. You are the creator of your reality. You have all the power to be whatever and whoever you want. The fear, the loss, the instability, can all change in an instant with the power you weld. Embrace the scorpion within you on this full moon’s night and ride these beautiful winds of change.
What have you been holding onto that you need to let go of?
What aren’t you allowing in?
How are you resisting change?
Where are you in your own way?
Allow yourself to see and embrace your shadows.
"How does a part of the world leave the world? How can wetness leave water? Do not try to put out a fire by throwing on more fire. Do not wash a wound with blood. No matter how fast you run, your shadow more than keeps up. Sometimes it's in front. Only full, overhead sun diminishes your shadow. But that shadow has been serving you. What hurts you blesses you. Darkness is your candle. Your boundaries are your quest.” -Rumi
